If I knew you were waiting there at my journey's end
Billy says "My Journey's End" was the first song he ever wrote and recorded in 1965 while he was with The Lost Souls. It is a very simple and straightforward song, and sounds like much of the early or mid 1960s pop music coming out at the time. Billy has jokingly referred to it as a "bad Beatles song" though it sounds more like he Beach Boys to me. Listen here. |
Well I'd climb the highest mountain
And I'd swim the deepest sea If I knew you were there at my journey's end Waiting for me Well I can tell how much that you love me By the letters that you send And I'd go anywhere if I knew you were waiting there At my journey's end Now I may travel to the ends of the earth but it really doesn't matter where I'd stay I'll come back some day Now I'll cross the widest prairie And I'll send the highest plane If I knew you were there at my journeys end to be mine For the rest of my days Now it really doesn't matter How many things I may send Cause I'd go anywhere if I knew you were waiting there At my journey's end |
